Turn-over of 20 drums from Batch '86 to alma mater

Batchmate Robert Fadallan labelling the drums, go Pareng Robert!

RMCHS - Hatid Kinabukasan Program

> during a meeting last February 11, Mr. Mario Tenesa, Monsai's current Guidance Counselor gave a briefing on the school's program which aims to retain potential dropouts. The outline below is from the handout provided by Mr. Tenesa.
Some of the attendees (from left): Rommel, Cel, Aurea, She, Fe and Rod

OBJECTIVES
  1.  Increase retention rates and completion rates.
  2.  Raise achievement level of Students at Risk of Dropping Out (SARDO)
  3.  Retrieve learners who are out of school
  4.  Increase capability of schools to manage Drop-Out Reduction Program (DORP)

Some of the figures presented during the briefing: behavior monitoring
COMPONENTS OF THE HATID KINABUKASAN PROGRAM
The Core Components consist of the four keys in relation to the Family, Individual, Community and School (FICS) problems encountered by the students. These are:
  •    F - Financial Assistance - this key aims to provide financial aid to students in terms of    transportation allowance and other academic-related expenses thru the help of RMCHS Alumni Assoc., barangay officials, NGOs and other stakeholders
  •    I  - Instructional Team - a set of teachers who are selected to be instructional managers of students with special cases. Classes will be scheduled opposite their regular load. They will also be given credit for their service.
  •    C  - Care Team - this team will provide foster care to students who seek guidance and nurturance from parents and/or guardians. This team will be composed of volunteer teachers.
  •    S  - Spiritual Values and Formation - a mandatory membership to any affiliated school organization. Attend regular Spiritual and Values formation activities and mandatory participation in community service.

IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES
the guidelines of HKP are as follows:
  1.  Identify SARDO by section, subject area and year level using the SARDO Watchlist.
  2.  Confer with the DORP Team and select appropriate intervention with colleagues using the FICS Analysis.
  3.  Signing of ADM Contract with parents, students and the DORP Team.
  4.  Administer school disciplinary policy thru community service by the Office of Student Affairs and Discipline (OSAD)
  5.  Implement the ADM to the students-at-risk of dropping out using the HKP Core Components.
  6.  Track and evaluate progress of SARDO

RATIONALE
Learners of this generation are currently challenged with so many issues and concerns in more than one aspect of their life. Such problems derive from familiy, the individual, community and school. They tend to be dependent on the choices that would make things easy for them to achieve. For instance, choosing to wort to augment family income and staying in the streets all day to find enjoyment with peers rather than going to school.
As stated from the mission of RMCHS which is to provide learners to excellent basic education and life-long learning through a technologically-driven, value-laden and fully-engaged instruction. It is our school's commitment to produce learners that are functionally literate.
This principle reinforces RMCHS RMCHS family to determinedly creating and planning interventions that would address the worsening problems of our learners regarding education.
In line with this, the Hatid Kinabukasan Program will contribute to the Drop-out Reduction Program of the Department of Education which aims to increase participation and completion rate.
